Nope no antiperspirant for me… Not on my pits!!! 🙅🏼♀️ Why I DIY my deodorant…
Let’s start with the fact that our body NEEDS TO SWEAT!
As annoying as it can be, we need to learn to embrace sweat, it’s how our body rids itself from toxins & helps to regulate temperature – she’s pretty clever Mother Nature.
When I learned that our good old roller Deo has more villains than a marvel comic I ditched it. Let’s take a closer look…
Aluminium, it blocks the sweat ducts in your pits and prevents you from sweating, ever get little bumps under your arms? That’s a sure sign your deodorant is backing your ducts and could lead to major problems. Your body is still sweating, it’s just getting stuck under your skin. No thanks!
Triethanolamine & diethanolamine are used as emulsifiers. Both could be toxic when absorbed into the body over long periods of time! Anyone for liver or kidney damage? No? What about allergic reactions? Nope, no thanks! That’s not to mention the carcinogenic risks.
FD & C colours are made from coal derivatives and are known to be carcinogenic as well as causing skin allergies.
Then there’s the synthetic fragrances… who knows what’s in those!
To think that we start to wear this junk from a young age, hello Impulse !
The GOOD NEWS is that it’s so easy to avoid the toxins and either buy a ready made deodorant, there’s heaps popping up, or do what I do & DIY one! So much cheaper, easy and effective.
