We've had a huge amount of Blue Bottles in the pas

We've had a huge amount of Blue Bottles in the past few days here in Newcastle, the boys have been stung two days in a row! And it's not just Blue Bottles, mozzies, sandflies, midges and ants biting or stinging us as we enjoy the great Aussie Summer! 🏄🏻‍♀️

👉🏼This natural Sting Relief is bloody awesome! We've used this on the boys these past couple of days, Blue Bottle stings whip around really quickly and they hurt!

🌸Lavender has been used historically for pain relief, it's an antihistamine, soothing and numbing it will also help to disinfect and calm the emotions.

🌿Peppermint is also an antihistamine, used for pain relief, it's cooling and and an anti-inflammatory.

I keep this spray in my Summer first aid kit which lives in my basket. I was so glad that I had it on hand at the beach, and won't be leaving home without it again.

Going the natural option will always be better for your health, products like Stingos have aluminium, preservatives, fragrance & other nasties that are linked to cancer, respiratory issue, allergies, headaches & more. I know I’d prefer to work with nature…because we are nature & our body knows how to heal.

Growth happens in ways we don't ask for, we don't

Growth happens in ways we don't ask for, we don't consciously know where that expansion needs to land.

Personally these past few months it's come from Mother Nature and my nurturing my children. It's come from tending my garden, digging dirt, sewing seeds, holding my children close.

Now I look out over my abundant garden full of divine edibles, or over at my two beautiful sons, laughing and thriving.

I am grateful for the spiritual growth, the lessons, the love, the awakening, the knowing.... I am home, I am free.

There have been a few significant times Frankincen

There have been a few significant times Frankincense has carried me through the darkness.

My first experience was with my very first bottle, I'd been suffering with post natal depression and I remember things were feeling very dark and heavy, I'd dropped it in the diffuser with lavender and lemon... took some deep breaths and lay on my bed, then my little Archie came toddling in and placed a stone he'd found painted with a beautiful rainbow on my bedside, I can't explain the joy and energy shift that gave me. 🌈✨

In 2019 I experienced a traumatic ectopic pregnancy, I reached for Frankincense then too, I'd wear it daily as my perfume through those weeks of ups, down, scans, appointments...again I felt held, steady, grounded.

Now in this uncertain world when I reach for Frankincense, I hear my ancestors guiding me, I feel them protecting my family and the energy of this ancient oil speaking words of truth, connecting me back to source yet again.

I have also seen Frankincense move many in just one drop, one breath... but they are not my stories to tell.

It's the oil of truth, it connects you back to nature and source, it resonates deeply in every cell. As you experience that first drop you too will feel it raising your vibration, lifting the veil of negativity and revealing your truth.

About 7 years ago I bought this little cute seedli

About 7 years ago I bought this little cute seedling called an Elderflower, being a new gardener building my first herb garden I thought I'd just chuck it in between the oregano and Thyme... haha it grew like a bloody weed!

In no time we had a massive shrub! 🌳 We cut it back every Spring and it just kept getting bigger every time! The boys used to cry when we pruned because for some reason they just LOVE IT!

I look out at it from my office window and I too love it, it's pretty little white flowers and lush green foliage, it reminds me of the Secret Garden and it shields our back deck from the neighbours.

🌿 Elderflower has lots of uses, medicinal and culinary, as well as looking pretty in vase.

Historically Elderflower has been used as an anti-inflammatory, anti-viral, it's rich in bioflavonoids, antioxidants, may help with allergies, regulate blood sugar levels and a can be a mild laxative.

You can use it in baking, as a garnish or cake decoration, in tea, syrups and tinctures. One of my favorites ways to use it is to make this Fermented Soda Drink, by the wonderful @milkwood_permaculture providing good bacteria to the gut as well as a refreshing drink.

It can be dried to be used at a later date too. So she's a versatile plant to have in your garden. Having an edible and medicinal garden empowered preparedness! Being able to make your own herbal medicines and remedies is an essential skill to have. It means less reliance on the system!

(SAVE THIS YUM RECIPE)

A favourite morning ritual as a family is to have slow, healthy breakfasts together 🥞🍓 this ritual has been something on my manifestation script for a while - this has not happened by chance.

Banana Pancakes are a firm favorite, here's our recipe:

Ingredients 🥣
60 g almonds or almond meal
100 g banana
150 g flour of choose, we use spelt
½ tsp ground cinnamon
3 tsp baking powder
4 eggs
150 g kefir milk or yoghurt
3 tsp virgin coconut oil, plus extra if needed
ricotta or yoghurt flavoured with lemon essential oil, to serve
mixed berries, to serve
pure maple syrup, to serve

Throw the almonds i the thermomix and mill (skip this step if using almond meal)
Then add all other ingredients and blend until all combined, add a little extra milk until consistency is runny enough to pour.

Cook in frypan with a little coconut oil and then serve with your fave toppings!

This is so easy the kids make them!

Lessons I’ve learned growing snow peas… 🌱 t

Lessons I’ve learned growing snow peas… 🌱 they are abundant, delish & we all love them!

They’re so quick to sprout & you can nearly watch them grow they move so fast! Quick wins are good for the kids as well as beginners in the garden. 👩🏼‍🌾

1/ Direct sown into beds is best as they don’t like to be transferred as seedlings, the roots can’t take the move & will die.

2/ They need a trellis to grow up. I make mine with jute string as it makes life easier at the end of the harvest as it can all be thrown in the compost, saving fiddly untangling.

3/ Over watering causes root rot, especially early on. Too much water also causes mildew on the leaves.

4/ Will grow all year round, full sun in cooler months, can take part shade in the heat of Summer

5/ Act as a great staggering plant to shade lower growing edibles like lettuce, kale & other leafy greens.

6/ Good companion plant for carrots, radishes, leafy greens & corn.

7/ Pick early for sweet of let them fully grow for big juicy & crisp pods & peas.
